9066 (work in progress) blends archival film footage with original compositions that I created from sampled records in the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of WA (JCCCW) collection. The piece first showed at the JCCCW in November, 2017. Ultimately, my goal with the project is to create a series of short film/music pieces that can either stand alone or be shown successively.

This project grew out of my volunteer work at the JCCCW, cataloging and digitizing a community-donated collection of 78rpm records (see link below for more info on that project).
